Our Location…
We wanted a beach with white sand and turquoise water, but most importantly we wanted the location to be private and secluded. Accessible by water and only if the sea isn’t rough, the tiny cove next to the famous Shipwreck was perfect. For a beach wedding in Zante, this location certainly provides the “wow” factor.
Our Ceremony…
We are not religious so decided on a civil ceremony which incorporated a sand ritual at the end. We also prepared our own vows which contributed to a very personal and emotional ceremony.
Important to us…
We wanted a unique ceremony in a breathtaking location. We both couldn’t have imagined having a big celebration so we opted for a small intimate beach wedding in Zante with just our closest family.
Grooms Attire…
Ian wanted his suit to be a light colour that complimented the colour scheme of the venue and ended up choosing a Banana Republic suit in beige with a navy blue tie and handkerchief.
My Dress and shoes…
I chose my dream dress right after Ian proposed to me in 2012 and my heart was set on it even three years later. It was a Pronovias Barbate from the Dream collection and had everything I wanted a bridal gown, to be both incredibly simple and stunning with that feeling of lightness. It was hard to find but totally worth it: I felt amazing wearing it on the day of the wedding.
I went barefoot 🙂 (which helped a lot since I was a bridesmaid at my best friend from high school’s wedding three days beforehand and my feet needed a rest from the high heels!)
The Bridal Party…
The colour of the bridal party was navy blue. The bridesmaids dresses were from ASOS. My brother (and best man) also had a navy suit to match the bridesmaids and was wearing the same colour shirt and tie as the groom.
Extra Activities…
The entire wedding itself was a great and really fun group activity as we had to drive through the whole island to reach our little port and from there we had to take a boat to the beach.
Our Dream Wedding…
We couldn’t have imagined a better wedding and we both agree that this day turned out to be one of the best in our lives. Our beach wedding in Zante really was our dream wedding.
Advice to other couples…
If you have a crazy idea about your dream wedding and keep hearing from everyone around you that it’s not going to work, go for it anyway! It’s worth it to see your dream come true and if you find the right professionals to help along the way, they will be just as excited about it as you are!
