Jess & Jamie
For Jess and Jamie, their search for an exclusive use wedding venue in France led them to find the beautiful Chateau de Miserai. The couple took advantage of Chateau de Miserai’s destination wedding option and called on Julie Bonenfant from Noces du Monde to help pull all the details together for their Chateau wedding in Normandy. Below, Julie has kindly shared the details of Jess and Jamie’s wedding celebrations, along with their beautiful images which were captured by Pierre Torset.

Why a Chateau Wedding in Normandy …
For Jess and Jamie it was important to share their wedding celebrations with family and friends in a “home away from home” environment, while combining this with a weeks holiday in France. Normandy was chosen as the location for the couples destination wedding due to it’s proximity to the UK, making it easy for guests to travel to while they could enjoy a mini holiday visiting Paris, Normandy and Deauville.
Wedding Vision…
The couples wedding vision was simple, elegant, no stress and lot of fun and love!
Wedding Ceremony…
Jess and Jamie had a symbolic ceremony conducted by the wonderful “The Paris Officiant” (who travelled from Paris). Their ceremony was held in the garden of the Chateau at 2.30pm, under a beautifully decorated floral arch and accompanied by violinists.
Wedding Reception…
Jess and Jamie found Chateau de Miserai on the internet and after visiting they knew it ticked all the right boxes for what they required in a wedding venue. Located in the heart of the Perche region in the middle of a 350 acre property, they were given exclusive use of the entire property including the 17th century Chateau, onsite accommodation for 40 and a choice of reception and entertainment spaces. The keys were handed over on arrival and they become custodians of the estate for the duration of their stay.
On the Day…
Hair and Make-up
2.30 pm – symbolic ceremony
4.30 pm – violinists, photos, cocktail
6.30 pm – dinner and dancing
9.00 pm – fireworks
Extra Activities…
The couple had both a pre wedding dinner and post wedding brunch which was made easier due to the fact that many of the guests were staying in the on-site accommodation provided by the Chateau.
Standout Moments…
The ceremony was definately a standout moment, a huge and incredible celebration of love! And the fireworks later in the evening in front of the Chateau.
Wedding Attire…
The bride wore a wonderful dress with intricately detailed embellishments creating a “statement” back plunged to the waist, while the groom looked very smart in a three piece blue suit.
Advice for Planning a Wedding Abroad…
To be well-advised and do your research as you are not in the country during the planning phase. Be sure about your choice of destination (wishes, traditions, weather…).
