Why a Wedding Abroad in Malta…
Although Louise and Michael had never visited Malta, the island ticked all the right boxes. With guaranteed hot weather and great value for money for both them and their guests, their wedding abroad at the Radisson Blu Malta met all their expectations.
Wedding Ceremony and Reception…
Louise and Michael held their ceremony and reception at the Radisson Blu Malta. A stones throw from the vibrant heart of St Julian’s but far enough to offer peace and tranquillity, the hotel sits on the edge of St Georges Bay and is a favourite venue for weddings abroad.
With the Mediterranean as a backdrop, their beautiful civil ceremony was held in the gardens of the resort. Everyone was very excited and it was such an emotional moment when Louise walked down the isle with her two dads’, Michael even shed a tear!
The couples reception was held at The Edge Restaurant, this is one of four restaurants at the Radisson Blu Malta. Located in a secluded area of the resort, it is open from May to October and offers a choice of menu options and al fresco dining during the Summer with breathtaking views along the coast, toward Valletta.
On the Day…
Louise and Michael’s ceremony started at 16:00 and that took us till 16:20. Welcome drinks and canapes were served in the same area as the ceremony. At around 17:00 the guests made their way in the Bridge Bar where they had group photos and a small pre-dinner reception. At 18:30 guests were escorted back to The Edge Restaurant for dinner, which was followed by speeches and a lot of dancing.
Standout Moments & Unique Ideas…
August in Malta is quite hot, so some of the guests that wore kilts where feeling so hot that they stood in front of the fan, fanning their kilts ????. The table plan was set up on a mirror on an easel.
Advice for Planning a Wedding Abroad…
When it comes to planning a wedding abroad in Malta, I suggest holding your wedding during the week. The reason for this is that you usually get better value for money plus Maltese weddings are very popular at weekends so finding availability at wedding venues can be a struggle.
